A Clinical Case of Korean Rehabilitation Treatment for Rotator Cuff Tear

Abstract
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to report the effects of Korean medicine treatment on a patient recovering after arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery.

Methods: From August 25th 2014 to September 17th 2014, the patient received rotator cuff surgery was treated with acupuncture treatment, herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping therapy, and physical treatment. Improvement of the patient``s condition was evaluated by NRS and ROM.

Results: After 24 days of treatment, the patient showed reduction of shoulder pain, and improvement of shoulder ROM.
Conclusions: This results suggest that Korean medicine treatment may be effective for pain control and ROM increase. Therefore this treatment is expected to shorten the postoperative recovery period and improve patients I satisfaction.
